How to dress up your kid as Little Krishna?

Janmashtami (also called as Krishna Jayanthi) is a popular Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna. On this special day, almost every family who has a little kid dress up their little kid like the Little Krishna.

Though the complete costume set for kids are available in the market, one can also prepare the same at home. Here are the main elements that are needed to dress up your kid as Little Krishna:

Dhoti:

Silk Dhoti with golden color border would give beauty to the Little Krishna. In case, if your kid is not comfortable with silk cloth or you don't want to cut down a silk dhoti, then you could buy the  cotton dhotis available in market with golden borders. 

Now a days, ready-to-wear Dhotis that can worn like trousers are also available for kids.

Crown :

You can get crowns for little kids in fancy stores (used for birthday parties) or you can also prepare them at home fitting to your kids size using cardboard papers and shining papers.

Peacock Feather:

Add a single peacock feather to the crown. This is one of the adorable identity of Lord Krishna.

Flute:

Lord Krishna was always seen having a flute in his hands. You can get a nice fake flutes from the shops.

Jewels:

Jewels like pearls, necklaces add beauty to the little Krishna. If your kids are comforable wearing jewels, put one or two beautiful jewels to add more beauty to your little Krishna.
